Dr. Mehta is a highly respected specialist in retinal surgery. He has an outstanding academic record that has allowed him to excel in the field of vitreoretinal surgery. Dr. Mehta graduated from the University of Michigan with high honors and distinction and was awarded several scholarships. During medical school at Wayne State University, he was inducted in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency at Kresge Eye Institute and was named chief resident. He then specialized in Medical and Surgical Retina and Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Kresge Eye Institute Fellowship program.
A native of Michigan, he practiced in Chicago for a number of years prior to returning to his home state. He has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters. He has given several presentations at local and international meetings. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He offers his expertise to patients in several locations including Grand Blanc and Port Huron.
